How a passive silicone seal keeps sewer gases, pathogens, odours and pests out of a building. From a 60-second fitting demo to how it is used in hospitals and restaurants.

Healthcare

Pathogen blocking technology.

The one-way silicone valve puts a physical barrier in the path pathogens take through drain pipework. Independent SGS testing measured more than 99.9 % blocking of viral aerosols.

Hospitals and clinics
Aerosols from the drain — a physical barrier.

Studies show that droplets thrown up as water runs away can carry organisms from drain biofilm 30–50 cm above floor level. A passive seal closes that route physically — no chemicals, no sterilising, no moving parts. Note that most of this literature concerns sink and basin traps rather than floor gullies.

Hospitality

Why every restaurant needs a Green Drain.

Floor gullies in professional kitchens are the usual way in for drain flies, cockroaches and sewer odours. See how the seal stops pests and smells at source while still taking full flow during a wash-down or CIP cycle.

Kitchens and hospitality
A mechanical barrier against fruit flies and cockroaches.

Pest treatments keep repeating because the chemistry kills adults but never reaches the eggs in the trap biofilm. A passive seal closes the route out — the population breaks within one life cycle, 7 to 21 days. It is a Tier 1 mechanical measure under IPM and needs no biocide registration.

Product overview

Protection against four threats from the drain.

Four things come into a building through an unprotected floor drain: sewer gases (H₂S, methane, ammonia), odours, pathogens and pests. The one-way valve holds back all four at once while water still runs away normally.

General
Pathogens · Odours · Gases · Pests

Hydrogen sulphide (the rotten-egg smell), methane and ammonia seep into empty rooms and washrooms for days on end. Carpets, bedding and curtains hold onto it. A passive seal in the trap removes the route — blocked physically, with no chemicals, no water and no maintenance.
