Spec it in.
ASSE 1072-2020.
BIM ready.

The designer of a new hotel, hospital, or plant must specify floor drains and control measures. Compliance with ASSE 1072-2020 and EN 1253 is required for building certification. We provide specification sheets ready for inclusion in the cost estimate — no time wasted.

Problem & solution

What belongs in the bill of quantities.

The water and drainage package specifies gullies to EN 1253. The architect or MEP designer then needs models with defined parameters, certificates and an SDS to put into the bill of quantities.

Without Green Drain™

  • Without compliance with ASSE 1072 — subsequent revisions require documentation.
  • Compatible with drains built to EN 1253 — covers most European traps
  • BIM (Revit/ArchiCAD/Allplan) typically requires a model and specifications.
  • EU MDR Class I — if the facility is healthcare, the designer must specify the device.
  • The main contractor wants availability — lead time and price on request.

With Green Drain™

  • PDF specification by size (GD 1.25 to GD 6) — ready for the cost estimate
  • BIM template for Revit, ArchiCAD, Allplan — inserted into the model
  • Declarations of Conformity, SDS, and Certificates — one ZIP
  • ASSE 1072-2020 report — covers American standards for EU projects
  • Technical support in English — same-day response from Dublin
Standards and Chambers

EU standards keep tightening.

RIAI (Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland), Engineers Ireland, CIBSE Ireland and the BRegs / TGD-Part B,G,J framework. Cross-referenced into BIM workflows on Revit, ArchiCAD and Allplan. EN 1253 is part of nearly every M&E execution package.

Standards: EN 1253-1 (floor P-traps, water seal ≥50 mm), EN 1253 Parts 6/7/8 (gullies with a water seal below 50 mm, with mechanical closure, and combined types; 2023 editions), HACCP International RG-04, ASSE 1072-2020, NSF/ANSI 2, HSE SARI guidelines. Implementation

How it goes through the design stage.

We send the documentation package on request. The designer carries it through concept, scheme and detailed design.

01

Request

Tell us the building type and the scope of the project and we will send the documentation package.

02

Conceptual design

Spec in the concept phase — we help with size selection.

03

Master plan

BIM model and PDF spec to the bill of quantities.

04

Delivery

The main contractor orders through us and we deliver to the programme.

Model Recommendation

Specification by project type.

Designers receive the complete Green Drain™ line (11 SKUs) in BIM format (Revit, ArchiCAD, Allplan, Bentley). LOD 300 is sufficient for the construction project. For healthcare facilities, an additional MDR Class I documentation package. Tender specifications are prepared with references to ASSE 1072-2020 and EN 1253.

Green Drain™ Recommended for your industry.

  • New 4–5 star hotel — GD 2 (rooms), GD 3 (wellness, F&B), GD 4 (kitchen), GD 5 (stewarding).
  • Hospital / clinic — GD 2 (dominant), GD 3 (ICU), GD 4–5 (OR, kitchen), GD 5–6 (central channels). MDR Class I documentation.
  • Office building (tower) — GD 2 (sanitary facilities), GD 3 (canteen), GD 4–5 (garages). LEED/BREEAM contribution.
  • Food processing facility (BRC/IFS audit) — GD 3 (line), GD 4 (CIP), GD 5–6 (central channels). Environmental monitoring.

Questions

What we get asked most.

In which format do you send the BIM files?

Revit (.rfa), IFC (universal), ArchiCAD (.gsm/.lcf) and Allplan. LOD 300 is sufficient for the construction project. We also send a PDF cut-sheet to size.

And for healthcare facilities (HSE acute hospitals)?

We send an additional package: EU MDR Class I declaration, EUDAMED registration, compatibility with hospital disinfectants, and technical dossier for compliance with the Medical Devices Directive.

Price for the cost estimate?

We send current entry prices by size and quantity. EU-registered supplier — no customs delays for Irish or EU customers.

Complete solution

Three products.
One protection portfolio.

Green Drain™ doesn't work alone — for maximum drain control it's combined with GD Uri-Tabs™ (urinals) and GreenSwirl™ (drain unblocking).

Ready for Free audit?

We come to the site, map the drains, and provide a written recommendation — no cost, no obligation.
