University campus — dozens of buildings, laboratories, cafeterias, dormitories, sports facilities. The technical service cannot manually inspect every drain trap during each summer standby. Green Drain™ solves the entire network through a single procurement by standardizing.
Irish universities and Technological Universities across Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and the regions. Each campus runs its own technical service, its own solutions, its own local practices. Standardisation is difficult.
According to the Higher Education Authority (HEA), Ireland has ~250,000 students in higher education across the universities (TCD, UCD, UCC, NUI Galway, MU, UL, DCU) and the Technological University network. Each campus includes dozens of buildings — refectories, halls of residence, science blocks and sports facilities — many running seasonal summer operations and conference schedules.
Statistical data taken from official Irish and EU sources: Central Statistics Office Ireland (cso.ie), Health Service Executive (hse.ie), Failte Ireland (failteireland.ie), Bord Bia (bordbia.ie), IDA Ireland (idaireland.com), Health Products Regulatory Authority (hpra.ie). Standards: EN 1253-1 (floor P-traps, water seal ≥50 mm), EN 1253 Parts 6/7/8 (mechanical seal failures, 2023), HACCP International RG-04, ASSE 1072-2020, NSF/ANSI 2, HSE SARI guidelines. Campus technical services will take the specification. Implementation over 3–5 summer seasons, prioritizing buildings.
The campus maps all buildings and estimates the number of drains by building type.
One building (e.g., a dormitory) — pilot installation, one-season evaluation.
Central procurement — ASSE 1072 specification, delivery within 3 years.
The technical service is installing them in each building during the summer work.
Irish university and IoT campuses — TCD, UCD, UCC, NUI Galway, University of Limerick, DCU, ATU, TUS, MTU and the technological university network — combine listed heritage buildings, post-2000 builds, student residences, refectories and sport / aquatic facilities. Standardisation across the campus portfolio means a mix of all sizes, but GD 2 dominates because most sanitary fittings run DN50.
Green Drain™ doesn't work alone — for maximum drain control it's combined with GD Uri-Tabs™ (urinals) and GreenSwirl™ (biofilm bio-cleaning).
Patented silicone seal for dormitories, colleges, cafeterias, and laboratories. ASME 1072-2020 specification for public procurement and BIM documentation.
Bio-enzyme urinal tablets for public restrooms in faculty and student housing. Standardization across the entire campus, reduction of service interventions.
Biofilm cleaning in the sewer systems of dining halls, laboratories, and sports facilities. Chemically neutral, compatible with laboratory processes.
We come to the site, map the drains, and provide a written recommendation—no cost, no obligation.
